Brook Group and IPICO Sport create channel partnership to expand IPICO's market and support in Australia for RFID electronic timing

May 2012
Brook Group is officially the Australian distributor of IPICO Sports RFID Automatic timing

Brook Group and IPICO Sport create channel partnership to expand IPICO's market and support in Australia for RFID electronic timing. Brook Group teams up with IPICO Sports for RFID electronic timing.

The IPICO Sports Australia channel partnership is a perfect fit between the two companies. The relationship allows Brook Group to offer clients new innovative solutions and support in timing, as well as IPICO’s world class RFID technology. Brook Group, racing and sporting services can now branch into sports like cross country, mountain biking, etc... that they haven't been able to cater for before.

IPICO RFID technology is acknowledged as the best in the world. IPICO sports systems are used at many major events globally such as the world’s industry leading event – the Virgin London Marathon; the USA Olympic Trials Marathons in Houston on January 14th, 2012; the Tokyo Marathon 2012;  and the world’s largest road race - Sydney City 2 Surf (76,000 finishers this year). It was used to time many of the USA National Cross Country Championships and Junior Olympic National Championships, as well as the USA Olympic Trials Triathlon Championships in 2008.

In November,  2011 -  NCAA Division 1 Regional Cross Country Championships in USA were timed using the IPICO Sports system along with our other partner Finish Lynx to create an unrivalled timing system.

Brook Group CEO Graeme Brook said, - IPICO is the best RFID electronic timing system in the world... We look to aim the IPICO's cost-effective systems at community/fun runs and schools as well as competitive sport working with our current sport timing systems. IPICO will also open a new market to sports that we haven't previously been able to cater for. We look forward to the successful introduction of RFID solutions into the active sports market.

IPICO Sports next-generation IP-X™ RFID Air-interface Communication Protocol was developed to overcome the limitations faced by conventional Reader-Talk-First (RTF) protocols such as motion, distance, crowds and demanding environmental conditions. This patented Dual Frequency technology eliminates signal loss and tag read collision, working especially well with objects and environments high in liquid, carbon and electronic content, such as the human body. Since an initial market introduction in March 2007, IPICO Sports systems are now used in over 50 countries, and continue to develop and grow a loyal following throughout the globe. IPICO's Elite reader system used mainly for big events was developed in Brisbane, Australia; this facility has since been withdrawn by IPICO - Brook group will take over the distribution side from this.

IPICO CEO Gordon Westwater, had this to say about the partnership - “The addition of the Brook Group enhances our global footprint in a very important running market. The combination of Ipico and Lynx Systems is becoming the best of breed solution in the global Cross Country market . With the Brook Group’s expertise and  involvement  in Australia we will be able to expand this success in the running and triathlon markets in Australia. “
